Cat Quest III on AnyPS5

Windows is in game — save load and about eight minutes of overworld play, with picture, audio and DualSense — playing smoothly on unmodified main c0607cc4b (Windows 11 Pro / Ryzen 7 9800X3D / RTX 5070), with no named gameplay blocker in that session and the historical settings-menu black screen not rechecked; Linux and macOS were not checked. Cited commit c0607cc4b (19 Oct) predates v0.1.3 (3fd1cc393b, 20 Oct). Historical first-report commit 5a6ad0ed3 (14 Oct) also predates v0.1.3. #5892 has since merged (14 Oct 2026) and is in v0.1.3; #5627 has since merged (15 Oct 2026) and is in v0.1.3. Historical (14 Oct 2026) overworld about 22 FPS on main without those fixes, and about 107–115 FPS with them (title cap 120); those numbers were not remeasured on c0607cc4b. Historical (14 Oct 2026) loading-screen hang from sceKernelClose(0) closing the host stdin, and audio stutter from one output mutex shared by every port, no longer show on main. The cited furthest in-game used plain main. No cited run tested the official release zip. Whether the current official release zip matches this report is unknown, so an official zip may stop earlier. This title is not in the official table. Build source is main — the cited furthest in-game used unmodified main c0607cc4b, not a release zip. In game on that cited main commit is not a Playable claim. A single self-report is not an official-table row.

Verified, blocked, unknown

Verified

  • Windows 11 Pro 26200 / Ryzen 7 9800X3D / RTX 5070 (NVIDIA 616.92) / MinGW GCC 15.2.0 (discussion #5888 comment, 19 Oct 2026): Cat Quest III PPSA15065 content 01.000.001 on unmodified main c0607cc4b, no pull requests merged on top. The only local change is a log-only audio counter in libSceAudioOut, used for the audio-block numbers below. Windows in game — loaded a save and played for about eight minutes. Picture, audio and DualSense input work, and it plays smoothly. On the main output port, 91,913 blocks of 5.3 ms went out with 0 underruns, and the longest gap between two sceAudioOutOutput calls was 13.6 ms. c0607cc4b predates v0.1.3. Single community self-report. In game ≠ Playable.
  • Same host and thread, historical (14 Oct 2026) on main 5a6ad0ed3 plus #5892 and #5627: title screen, main menu, loading a save and playing in the overworld, caves, sailing and the in-game menus. Picture, audio and pad input work. With those fixes, about 107–115 FPS in the overworld (the title caps at 120). Without them, that earlier main ran the same scene at about 22 FPS, because every sampled-texture cache hit over host-imported memory compared the whole texture. New shaders cause a one-time hitch; it is gone once the shader cache is warm. Those FPS numbers were not remeasured on c0607cc4b. 5a6ad0ed3 predates v0.1.3. #5892 has since merged (14 Oct) and is in v0.1.3; #5627 has since merged (15 Oct) and is in v0.1.3.
  • Same Windows host and thread: relinked with relinker --windows --registry --module-dir Media/Plugins --module-dir Media/Modules eboot.elf CatQuest3.exe. Unity IL2CPP modules came from the .esbak ELF backups after unwrapping the fSELFs. Historical (14 Oct) used APS5_AUDIO_LATENCY_MS=100; the 19 Oct update says that variable is no longer read and is not needed. No extra title patch file is named as required.

Blocked

  • Current blocker named on the cited 19 Oct Windows session: none in that eight-minute save-load play (discussion #5888). The reporter did not open the settings menu in that run, so the historical black screen after it is not rechecked.
  • Historical (14 Oct 2026, discussion #5888): loading-screen hang from sceKernelClose(0) closing the host stdin (#4909); audio stutter from one output mutex shared by every port; black screen after opening the settings menu (needed #5892 and #5627, which carries #5111); overworld about 22 FPS on that earlier main because sampled-texture cache hits compared the whole texture. The 19 Oct update says the loading hang, the audio stutter and the low overworld frame rate no longer show on main. #5892 merged 14 Oct 2026 and is in v0.1.3; #5627 merged 15 Oct 2026 and is in v0.1.3.
  • Not checked in the cited reports: full-game completion, the settings menu on c0607cc4b, Linux, or macOS. In game through the sampled eight minutes is not a Playable claim.

Unknown

  • Official-table membership. This title is a community report (official: false), not a tested-compatibility table row.
  • Whether the current official release zip matches this report.
  • Linux. No cited Linux session of this title in discussion #5888.
  • macOS. No cited macOS session of this title in discussion #5888.
  • Whether the historical settings-menu black screen still happens on c0607cc4b or later main. The 19 Oct update did not reopen that menu.
  • An FPS number on c0607cc4b. The 19 Oct update says it plays smoothly and gives audio-block counts; the 107–115 / 22 FPS figures are the 14 Oct historical pair and were not remeasured.
  • Network or online play. No cited report tests it.
  • AMD or Intel GPU in-game reports. The cited Windows host is RTX 5070 only.
  • Play past the sampled eight minutes, or completion.
