Castlevania: Belmont's Curse on AnyPS5

Linux reaches the Trevor/Rose boat dialogue at about 3.8 FPS on main 8f9240f06 (later 62–66 presents/10 s on b85d972f4; 75–81 with jemalloc on plain main 7e95bde79; Ubuntu 26.10 / RTX 3080 Ti); current blocker is speed (CPU-bound packet worker / AGC driver); Windows reached that scene only on a Peace Walker test branch plus #6842 and #7450, not plain main. Historical (18 Oct 2026): a Windows 11 Pro run could not load (GetLastError: 126, Il2cppUserAssemblies.prx). #6842 has since merged (19 Oct) and is in v0.1.3; #7450 was closed unmerged. #5456 and #5375 have merged and are in v0.1.3. 8f9240f06 predates v0.1.3; b85d972f4 and 7e95bde79 are unreleased main, newer than v0.1.3. Neither report tested the official release zip. Whether the current official release zip matches this report is unknown, so an official zip may stop earlier. Audio output quality, PSN features, save data beyond the first mount, and macOS were not checked. This title is not in the official table. Build source is main — the cited furthest in-game used unmodified main, not a release zip. In game on that cited main commit is not a Playable claim. A single self-report is not an official-table row.

Allowed values: release, main, fork, patched, unknown. Official table membership is not a release-zip claim.

Furthest public stage shown, including testing branches. Not an official playable verdict.

Official zip may stop earlier

Playable here can come from later main or extra patches. The official release zip may stop before that furthest stage.

  • Ubuntu 26.10 / GCC 15.3.0 / RTX 3080 Ti (NVIDIA 615.71.09) / Linux native / SDL audio via PipeWire (discussion #5832, 15–21 Oct 2026): Castlevania: Belmont's Curse PPSA35399 content 01.000.000 on clean AnyPS5 main. Linux in game — main menu, New Game, then the Trevor and Rose boat dialogue. About 3.8 FPS (window title) on main 8f9240f06, GPU about 30% utilized. No local changes and no other pull requests on that first in-game run. Later on clean main b85d972f4: 62–66 presents per 10 s in gameplay (about 1.9× the 32–35 presents per 10 s on eea428ca8). jemalloc 5.3.1 preload on plain main 7e95bde79: 75–81 presents per 10 s. First screen after the logos is black with only the skip prompt; holding Circle (C on a keyboard) skips it. Unmodified main, not a release zip. Single community self-report. In game ≠ Playable.
  • Same Linux host and thread: A/B runs of #5404 (draw-cache bypass under 5% hits) and #6539 (relocate across user words that only reach the shader as values) on the boat scene showed no frame-rate gain (discussion #5832).
  • Same Linux host and thread: Unity IL2CPP title. Relinked with relinker --registry --module-dir Media/Modules --module-dir Media/Plugins src/eboot.elf app.elf (12 modules, including the 95 MB Il2cppUserAssemblies.prx). Without those module dirs the executable stops at load with Il2cppUserAssemblies.prx: cannot open shared object file. libSceNpCppWebApi.prx is in this dump's sce_module/, so no other dump is needed. .guest.prx files go next to the originals. Run with APS5_HOST_IMPORT_MIB=16384 SDL_AUDIODRIVER=pipewire ./app.elf. --module-dir is a relinker flag, not a game patch.
  • Windows 11 Pro 26200 / RTX A2000 Laptop (NVIDIA 610.60) / WinLibs GCC 15.2.0 / Release (discussion #5832 comment, 19 Oct 2026): in game — New Game reaches the boat scene with Trevor and Rose after holding Circle (C on a keyboard) to skip the first cinematic (black screen with the skip prompt), as on Linux. Frame rate very low. The build is not plain main: main from 2026-10-17 plus a Peace Walker test branch, including #6842 (IL2CPP heap hooks) and #7450 (Windows relinker module sharing). #6842 has since merged (19 Oct) and is in v0.1.3; #7450 was closed unmerged. Relinked with relinker --windows --registry --module-dir Media/Modules --module-dir Media/Plugins. Community report in the same thread. In game ≠ Playable.
  • Same Windows host and thread: Historical (18 Oct 2026): a Windows 11 Pro run could not load — Failed to load module: ...\libs\Il2cppUserAssemblies.prx, GetLastError: 126. The reporter hit the same error code on libs\libSceNetCtl.prx until MinGW DLLs (libgcc_s_seh-1.dll, libstdc++-6.dll, libwinpthread-1.dll) were copied into libs\. Release archives already include those DLLs. The first Windows comment's path (...\libs\Il2cppUserAssemblies.prx) also suggests a relink without the two --module-dir options.

Blocked

  • Speed on the cited Linux main runs (discussion #5832). A 30 s in-game perf profile (18,947 samples) put 83% of samples on the packet-worker thread and 60% of all time inside the AGC driver. The GPU is mostly idle. Later measurements stay CPU-bound even after the about 1.9× present-rate gain on b85d972f4.
  • The first cinematic is not drawn: black screen with only the skip prompt. The report says that stop was not investigated.
  • Historical (18 Oct 2026): Windows 11 Pro failed to load with GetLastError: 126 (Il2cppUserAssemblies.prx). That load failure is a setup / relink-layout crash from that date, not the cited Windows in-game result.
  • Not checked in the cited reports: audio output quality, PSN features, save data beyond the first mount, play past the boat scene, macOS, or AMD/Intel GPUs. In game on the boat scene is not a Playable claim.

Unknown

  • Official-table membership. This title is a community report (official: false), not a tested-compatibility table row.
  • Whether the current official release zip matches this report.
  • Audio output quality. The Linux report used SDL audio via PipeWire and lists audio output quality as not checked.
  • Saving beyond the first mount. Discussion #5832 lists save data beyond the first mount as not checked. A later Linux script loads a save for the frame-rate sample; that is not a cited create-and-reload round-trip.
  • Network or PSN features. The report lists PSN features as not checked.
  • Windows on unmodified current main. The cited Windows in-game used a Peace Walker test branch plus #6842 and #7450. #6842 is now in v0.1.3; #7450 was not merged.
  • macOS. No cited macOS session of this title in discussion #5832.
  • AMD or Intel GPU in-game reports. The cited Linux host is RTX 3080 Ti; the cited Windows host is RTX A2000 Laptop.
  • Play past the boat-scene sample, or completion.
